Hong Kong’s Customs and Excise Department has seized a box of 16,000 Mark Six lottery tickets in an anti-smuggling operation, HK01. The department says the tickets were purchased for HK$330,000. They’re believed to have been smuggled to China and Macau, according to HK01 News.

The tickets were seized last Wednesday when a river vessel was intercepted by officials in the waters west of Hong Kong. The smugglers were in police custody.

They also seized a number of smartphones and tablets. This is the third time since June that smugglers have been caught using inland rivers to transport illegal goods.

The smugglers re-sold the tickets to customers, making a profit of HK$4 to HK$13 per ticket. The smugglers were found guilty of breaking Hong Kong’s Import and Export Ordinance, which can result in a fine or jail term.
